01 / Context
Where I started
At INDT, I was Lead UX Designer and Product Owner for the Epson industrial AR work. The research and BI dashboard shown here belonged to the same programme: using Moverio glasses for production-data analysis and electronics assembly on factory floors.
We were testing a wearable device while people carried out physical tasks. I had to look at what they could see through the glasses, how they navigated, whether they understood the instructions and how comfortable the device was to use.
02 / My approach
What I did
We tested three applications on the glasses
The study covered production-data analysis, guidance for inserting components into circuit boards, and gesture-based login. I worked on the usability research across these tasks, examining navigation, comprehension and physical comfort with the Moverio BT-2000 and BT-2200.
The dashboard used electronics-production data
The BI application used data from automatic surface-mount component placement. The wider programme also included computer vision for checking through-hole components. My work covered the web and AR interfaces within that manufacturing context.
I combined UX work with product ownership
Alongside the design work, I managed squads and backlogs for the Epson projects at INDT. I consolidated the usability research into a visual report, bringing the observations from the headset sessions into the product work.
